VK-P3

The VK-P3 phono module is an available option for the VK-3i, VK-20, VK-30 and VK-40 preamplifiers.  Installed internally, it provided stellar low-noise performance for both moving-magnet (46 dB gain) and moving-coil cartridges (60 dB gain), all in a convenient single-box package.

The VK-P5 offers the same fundamental circuit as the reference VK-P10 to provide extraordinary value in a balanced all-tube phono stage.  At the heart of the VK-P5 is BAT's unique Flying RIAA  network that brings the benefits of differential operation to this circuit equalization stage.  The VK-P5 is the practical choice for the analogue afficionado.

VK-P10

Extraordinary attention to detail makes the VK-P10 the reference standard in phono-stage preamplification.  Featuring an innovative Flying RIAA  network (also used in the VK-P5), the VK-P10 adds built-in step up transformers, upgraded parts, a larger power supply and polarity switching to provide unmatched performance and flexibility.

The three high-current gain stages with zero-feedback provide the ultimate clear signal path with no buffers. The built-in step up transformers to allow gain adjustment between 50 dB and 73 dB, in addition to the selectable cartridge loading of resistance from 100 Ω to 47 kΩ and capacitance from 100 pF to 1000 pF. The larger power supply, premium components and polarity switching provide unmatched performance and flexibility in a package which prompted one respected reviewer to confirm its Class A status and state "it effortlessly lets the music through.  This is a fine effort, worth every penny of its asking price."

Balanced Audio Technology is pleased to introduce the long-awaited Special Edition version of our reference VK-P10 phono-stage. The VK-P10SE incorporates numerous engineering improvements that take the performance of the already stellar VK-P10 to a truly superlative level. The first gain stage has been completely revised to provide a substantially lower noise floor. Vishay resistors replace the already high quality metal film resistors in critical circuit areas. The output stage has been changed to incorporate a quartet of the robust high-gain 6C45 tubes. The 6C45s provide high current and low output impedance to establish a superb level of drive and transparency. The power supply upgrade and SIX-PAK of output paper-in-oil capacitors (first employed in our reference VK-50SE line-stage) are used to provide an even more visceral level of bass performance. The result is a combination of improved silence in the quietest passages of music combined with an unfettered dynamic ease and sense of scale. And following the BAT tradition of providing an upgrade path for existing customers, all VK-P10 phono-stages can be upgraded to the VK-P10SE. Contact your BAT dealer or distributor for more information. All you need to do is listen!

The VK-D5 establishes a new benchmark in CD player performance by combining a fully balanced digital design with a unique high-current six-tube output stage.  Balanced Audio Technology is especially proud of the VK-D5's differential output stage. Some so-called "balanced" designs actually process the four signal phases separately, which can contaminate the signal responsible for musical information. But all of the VK-D5's signals are processed in a completely differential fashion, resulting in a high degree of common mode rejection, allowing the differential signal to be delivered as purely as possible. In addition, that stage runs at an unusually high bias to ensure optimum linearity. Hence, the VK-D5 has unusually low harmonic and intermodulation distortion (especially for a tube design). Finally, the signal is backed by a very large power supply - three toroidal transformers working in conjunction with multiple voltage regulation stages and huge reserves of stored energy.

VK-D5SE

A special edition CD player, the VK-D5SE, builds on the considerable strengths of the standard player.  The SE utilizes premium passive components such as Vishay bulk silver foil resistors and custom oil-filled capacitors, BAT's exclusive high-current, low-impedance 6H30 SuperTubes and an upgraded power supply to deliver superlative performance from a single box player.
